OPPO Find X3 Pro (Fussi) Detailed

As I mentioned last week, Oppo is poised to launch a trio of Find X3 series handsets in the first quarter next year — to be released early in the second quarter — with the most interesting among these likely to be the flagship Find X3 Pro, codenamed Fussi. Thanks to some pre-launch teasing Oppo has done regarding this model, certain features are already known, such as its Snapdragon 888 5G chipset and so-called full-path color management system. What follows is a more in-depth look at these and other expected specifications.
Oppo plans to market the FX3P with a tagline along the lines of “Awaken Color,” as a way to draw attention to its end-to-end 10-bit color support. What that means, essentially, is that its 6.7-inch, 1440 x 3216 display (525ppi) — with the same adaptive dynamic frame rate of 10Hz to 120Hz as Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 Ultra — will be able to display images captured by the quad-camera array in their maximum native 1.07-billion colors.
Those cameras include a pair of new 50-megapixel IMX766 image sensors from Sony — one for the primary wide angle module and the other for ultra-wide capture — along with a 2x optical zoom capable 13MP telephoto and unique-sounding 3MP macro cameras. This latter camera is said to offer 25x zoom, with lights circling its lens, setting it up to function as a de facto microscope. Expect this feature to receive significant attention in FX3P marketing.
Design-wise, the phone should be eight millimeters thick and weigh about 190 grams, with both the screen and ceramic glaze-like or matte-frosted glass backs being curved. It’s expected to launch in black and blue colorways, with a white option coming further down the road.
Internally, besides the 5G-capable Snapdragon 888 (with eight ARM Cortex cores in three different configurations), the most interesting aspects of the device pertain to its battery and, surprisingly, its NFC radio. The dual cell 4500mAh battery will support both 65-watt SuperVOOC 2.0 wired charging and, like the OnePlus 8 Pro, 30-watt VOOC Air wireless charging as well. Meanwhile, the NFC module possesses a so-called dual-body antenna design, which enables tap-to-pay regardless of device orientation. In other words, you’d be able to make payments screen-down, not just with the back held towards the reader.
Finally, and perhaps expectedly, the Find X3 Pro will run ColorOS 11 based on Android 11.
